HazMat

ELDT Theory

Build the knowledge behind safe hazardous materials transportation, from recognizing hazards to understanding the information that travels with a shipment.

There's meaning behind every marking

A placard communicates a hazard. Shipping information helps explain what is being transported. A driver needs to understand how those details fit together.

HazMat ELDT Theory introduces the responsibilities that come with hazardous materials transportation. The course covers federal regulations, loading and unloading, placarding, security awareness, and emergency response.

Recognize the hazard

What does a placard tell you? Why does clear information matter during an incident? Explore actual Drive Prodigy lesson screenshots that connect the course material to a driver’s responsibilities. These three previews introduce the basics, the markings on a load, and communication when something goes wrong.

Understand what travels with you

The load carries more than its contents. It comes with information, procedures, and responsibilities that deserve your attention before the trip begins.

Use the course to connect hazard recognition with the practical importance of documentation, safe transportation, and security awareness. That understanding gives each check a purpose.
